Donna's House Central vs. a Private Provider: How to Decide
By The Therapeutic Solution · · 3 min read

If your case involves supervised visitation in Clark County, you may have been pointed to Donna's House Central, the court's program, or you may be weighing it against a private provider. Both can be the right choice. The best one depends on your schedule, your budget, your child's needs, and what your court order requires.
This guide gives you the questions to compare them fairly. We are a private provider, so we have said where you should check the facts yourself rather than rely on us.
What Is Donna's House Central?
Donna's House Central is a program connected to the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas for supervised visits and exchanges. It publishes court-facing information and orientation materials. If a judge or the court has directed your family there, the order may name it specifically, and a change to another provider could need the court's approval or your attorney's guidance.
What Is a Private Provider?
A private provider is an independent organization you contract with directly. Private providers differ a great deal from one another. Some offer visits and exchanges only. Others, including The Therapeutic Solution, offer a range of services, from everyday supervised visitation and safe exchange to therapeutic supervised visitation and reunification therapy led by licensed clinicians.
How to Compare: Six Questions
- What does your order say? If it names a specific provider, start there and talk with your attorney before changing.
- What are the hours? Check weekday, evening, and weekend availability against your work and your child's schedule. Ask each provider for current hours.
- How is supervision done? Ask whether visits happen one family at a time or in a shared space, and what the setting feels like for a child.
- What do reports look like? Ask what is documented, how quickly reports are delivered, and whether staff can testify if the court asks.
- Is there a path forward? If the goal is to step down from supervision, ask whether the provider offers anything beyond visits, such as therapeutic visitation.
- What will it cost? Ask for the current fees in writing, including intake, hourly rates, exchanges, and any cancellation charges. Fees change, so always confirm them directly.

Where a Private Provider May Fit Better
Families often choose a private provider when they need flexible hours, a smaller and more child-focused setting, a therapist-guided option, or a clear route from supervised visits toward unsupervised time. At TTS, our four-phase Continuum of Care moves forward based on readiness, not a fixed timeline.
Where Donna's House Central May Fit Better
If your order directs your family there, if cost is the main concern, or if you prefer to stay within the court's own program, it may be the right fit. Ask the program directly about current availability and fees.
Can You Switch Providers?
Sometimes, but it depends on your order. If a court order names a provider, talk to your attorney or the court before making changes. If your order allows a private provider, you can register with us and we will confirm what your order requires at intake. For how fees generally work, see our Services Fees page and our guide to how much supervised visitation costs in Las Vegas.
Is a private provider allowed in my case?
It depends on your court order. Many orders allow a "professional" or "agreed" provider. If yours names one program, ask your attorney before switching.
Do private providers write reports for the court?
Most do, but the format and speed vary. Ask any provider what its reports include and how they are shared.
