What Are Reunification Services?

At The Therapeutic Solution, our Reunification Services are designed to support families navigating high-conflict custody, divorce, or separation. When parent-child relationships have been disrupted or strained, we provide a structured, therapeutic path toward rebuilding trust, communication, and emotional connection.

We specialize in working with court-ordered, court-referred, or voluntarily participating families who face intense conflict, estrangement, or difficulty in co-parenting. Our trained mental health professionals provide trauma-informed, neutral, and child-centered support every step of the way.

How Reunification Therapy Works

We provide a multi-step therapeutic approach designed to reduce tension, promote healing, and protect children’s emotional wellbeing.

Safety Driven

We begin with a thorough intake and clinical assessment to understand:

  • Family history

  • Current custody/legal arrangements

  • Underlying trauma or attachment issues

  • Communication patterns and behavioral challenges

Individual & Family Sessions

Each family member may participate in individual counseling, as needed, to prepare for healthy reunification.

Parent Coaching & Education

We offer coaching sessions for parents to learn emotional regulation, communication skills, co-parenting strategies, and how to avoid behaviors that escalate conflict.

Therapeutic Supervised Visits

In-person visits between child and parent are held in a safe, professionally supervised setting, with therapeutic support to guide the interaction and ensure the child feels secure and heard.

Progress Reviews & Documentation

We provide comprehensive, court-recognized assessments that guide safe and meaningful reunification. From Brief Focused Assessments and Parenting Capacity Evaluations to Parent-Child Interaction and Risk & Safety Assessments, our licensed professionals deliver clear, objective recommendations that prioritize children’s safety, stability, and healing.
