Respite care is a special name for a short-term break for caregivers. When you look after someone who’s sick or disabled, it’s a 24-hour job. You need a break from time to time to look after your own needs.

The Family Trauma Treatment Center provides therapeutic and regular respite care services to families with children and adults with special needs to include physical and behavioral health needs. We also provide services to regular levels of care. 

Respite care provides parents and other caregivers with short-term child care services that offer temporary relief, improve family stability, and reduce the risk of abuse or neglect. Respite can be planned or offered during emergencies or times of crisis. You may set up respite care for a few hours, a day, a few days, or a few weeks. Our respite care services are  available to foster, kinship, and adoptive families, as well as birth families in need of support.
